Selena is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She started her path as an instructor at the Vancouver School of Healing Arts where she earned her 240 hour certification in teaching Alignment-based Hatha-Vinyasa Yoga.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of British Columbia and a background in mental health work, Selena has a long-standing interest in finding the best ways to help herself and others bring wellness into their life.
Selena was initially drawn to Yoga for its physical benefits, specifically its impact on strength and mobility.
However, when she discovered its unique ability to bring calmness to her mind by developing a connection to her body, her love for the ancient practice grew deeper and motivated her to teach.
Selena currently works with a range of students from seniors to athletes, leading them in classes on mobility, relaxation and strength. She enjoys helping students reach their goals by building balance in their bodies through movement, and bringing clarity to their minds through breathwork.
Although Yoga provides benefits in all class formats, some people find greater impact with 1:1 teaching than generalized group sessions. Selena is looking forward to expanding her teaching practice by offering 1:1 Private Sessions at Accel Health in 2023. Private sessions are perfect for those looking for a more personalized practice suited exactly to their needs and/or for those who need to carve out some intentional time in their busy life to just relax.
When Selena isn’t teaching Yoga, you can find her reading up on Yogic Philosophy and Stoicism, spending time in nature, or searching for the best-tasting food to eat around town!
